Hi there,

My 7D is producing photographs in a 4:3 aspect ratio. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to switch this option off and go back to taking normal images.

Any help in my hour of need would be highly cherished!

You can change the aspect ratio during Live View shooting.

That aspect ratio will be stored in your image file and will display in DPP on your computer accordingly (though, the full image itself is not actually cropped). You can find and change these settings on your 7D in the C.Fn IV -4 (add aspect ratio info) menu. You can find this on pg. 216 of the manual.

You can also just "Clear all custom functions" from the C.Fn settings.
