Vimeo and Canon have launched this wonderful contest for filmmakers shooting on Canon's EOS 7D DSLR.

Here's Canon's official description of the contest:

The Story Beyond The Still

It's the first ever user-generated HD Video Contest where photographers become filmmakers, and we all see beyond the still. Last month Josh Thacker was chosen as the very first winner for his film "Job Security," based on his interpretation of a still photograph at the end of the previous chapter, "The Cabbie," shot by Vincent Laforet on a Canon EOS 7D. Josh's film was the second chapter of seven, ending with a still photograph of his own for the Vimeo community to once again interpret. After a flurry of Chapter 3 entries, here are the five finalists. Please watch all five and cast your vote for the winner. Then, stay tuned, because on April 6th, the next winner will be announced and a new still will guide the way for Chapter 4 entries.

Our Pick

Not that we want to pick favorites, but our friend Andrew Brinkhaus is the cinematographer on one of the finalists in this round.

Check out his short film, The Beach below. If you are a fan, please vote.

The next big software update for iPhone is coming sometime in April and will include a Food section in Apple News+, an easy-to-miss new Ambient Music app, Priority Notifications thanks to Apple Intelligence, and updates to apps like Mail, Photos, Podcasts, and Safari. See what else is coming to your iPhone with the iOS 18.4 update.
