I'm Trying to Set the Manual Focusing Options on My 7d, I Want to Use Focus Point Expansion. However, When Going into the Settings I Find That I'm Only Able to Select 3 of the 5 Options, of Course Not the two that I want, spot and expansion. Any ideas anyone?
Hello, I have been shooting at night. I have used a telephoto with 2.8 aperture, and the 100mm 2.8 macro lens. I don't use a flash at the request of the owner...distracting and images look washed out. I usually boost the iso, but I get so much noise even after post production. The shoot coming us is a high school reunion. Any tips that I might be missing. Also, they want most of the shots to be candid.
I've been using a 7d for about a month and I've noticed my images are soft or blurred on the right hand side especially if the subjects are in a line so the right hand image is furthest away. I need to cover the whole lens with sharp clear images and finding this frustrating and need to resolve this quickly as these are wedding photographs. Has anyone had similar problems where the 7d fails to be sharp all the way across a lens? Using sigma 17-70 lens worked perfectly with my 50d camera
Is anyone else having problems getting sharp images with the 7D when shooting action. I've had the camera approximately 6 months and the results I am getting are appalling. Every image is soft! I've been shooting top class rugby and football for 15 years and this is by far the worst camera I've owned. It's not a lens issue as I use a 70-200mm 2.8 IS Canon. In the past I've owned 10D, 20D etc... and the image results from these cameras are far superior! Looking into this problem on the net it...
I used to have a Nikon, with which I used a 55-200mm lens, and have since bought a Canon 7D, but don't really want to sell my 55-200 if I don't need to. I therefore bought an adapter so I can use the lens with the 7d, however, because the lens' aperture is changed digitally, the Canon body doesn't recognise this and I therefore cannot change the aperture the lens while using it on this camera.
I'm testing out a Canon EOS 7D for some in-office product photography. I use a photo station with a white background and two 7Ds. What are the best settings to use?
Hi, I am using Canon 7D, 18-55mm Kit Lens, wide angle convertor, Hoya Pro1 Digital Filter ND x16 and a tripod to shoot a Daytime Long Exposure Landscape. I switch my dial to BULB mode, keeping my aperture to F22 and ISO to 100. I use a remote to control my shutter. After 1 min of shoot, My photos still comes out overblown. I have tried reducing and maximizing my aperture but I cant get a smooth LE Photos. I have missed out my chances of getting great photos in Turkey and China and I am leaving...
Hello All, I Have a Problem with My Camera. When I Take a Picture, Information About the Pic Pop Up. I Am Wondering How Could I Get Rid of That Setting. When I Put It on Play Mode, Same Thing, I See the Info Related to the Picture.
I somehow have disabled the AF-Drive button on the top of the camera next to the LCD. When I push it now it does nothing. It used to work and I could choose one shot, AI Focus, or AI Servo. I don't know what I did and I can't find anything in the manual.
Hi there, I've been lucky enough to get myself in the pit and a cherry picker at a music festival. Wanting a bit of advise on settings to use for the night time headline act, Orbital, they have a great light show so want to really capture that. Any advice would be grateful.
I have the 7d and when in manual mode the continuous shooting only goes in groups of three. There was another time I had it working continuously but now for some reason it only goes in 3's. I obviously have some setting wrong.
I tried reformatting and it still doesn't work. I guess I will take the card back and try another one. I did accidentally drop the card before putting it in. I didn't know they were that sensitive.
I can get the 7d body for 1,050.00 plus tax. After a $250 rebate. I can't find a better deal anywhere. It's just the body, strap, charger, battery. Does the camera come with the viewfinder eyepiece? I can get an 18-135 lens for just over $300. Cheaper than most kits with the 18-55 lens which I don't want.
I frequently take animal and nature photos and was wondering if there is a way to turn off the shutter "click" on the 7d. Sometimes it spooks the birds and I can only get one good s
I've been using a finepix S100FS for the past 4 years and absolutely delighted with it until it broke...Spent about a week looking at Canon cameras.. Thought about 600D, 60D but really splashed out on the 7D and Canon 18 - 200 lense as was told this is an awesome camera. I am really a point and shoot person at the moment until I learn manual modes etc. I spent the afternoon with my family indoors at Xscape and took about 50 pictures at crazy golf....OMG..pictures looked good on camera..Have...
I have just made my first 7D videos and made some of them with the camera in the portrait position. I'm a photographer and I do this all the time. Can I rotate them and use them or do I start over???
just a quick question. i recently purchased a Canon 7D with a Canon 70-200mm f/4 IS lens. for the most part, it's an awesome camera, however, when i use the zoom lens to take pics at my sons basketball game they come out grainy. i've tried playing around with the settings but i just cant seem to get a really crisp shot. could it be that the f/4 is not good enough and i would need to upgrade to a f/2.8? any help would be great.
Camera was working fine until today when I was recording some video. The video buffer filled up within 5 seconds and recording stopped. Also on these tiny clips it was not recording sound. I tried several cards (formatted etc) so not a card issue. However, if I set "Sound Recording" to off, the video recording works fine.
My last camera had a setting where I could press the focus point button on the eye, then move the camera any where and the focal point would stay the same. I just recently got a Canon 7D and was wondering if that has the same function? I asked the guy at the camera store and he wasn't sure how to set that up.
"Picture Perfect" is a five minute film that won Best Cinematography in the Gainesville 3 Day Film Challenge in January 2012. A Portuguese photographer struggling to reconnect with his artistic passion admires a woman from afar. Made in two days with three Canon 7Ds and various Canon lenses.
I can set my 7d for AF Point Expansion, but when I press the shutter I only get a single point, and not the additional four expansion points. It looks like Single Point AF. I'm enabling AF Point Expansion and setting it. Very strange because I've used it before.
I am in the process of learning my 7D(slow learner). I have gotten to the point that I want to use the continuous shooting mode. My problem: when I set it to continuous shooting, if it times out automatically, it will reset to single shooting when I half click the shutter turning it back on. I have checked the manual and video tutorials online, and found nothing that addresses this.

Hi everyone, I have a very basic question and I'm an amateur to say the least. I will be at a restaurant tonight with the family. I will not have the ability to bring a tripod, and it will be low lighting. Any recommendations for the best setting. Typically I shoot on the manual setting, but should I switch to Aperture priority?
Hi, I just got purchased the 7d which Im loving and I managed to figure out how to film and then watch my clip in slow motion on the lcd screen but when I transfer it to my mac its not in slo mo. Is there way of transferring it so that its still slo mo? Perhaps Im not meant to do this way not sure but if not then what is the point of having the slo mo function? Thanks
