Forum Thread: The best of the best zoom for dslr video

Hello everybody,

I have been looking into zoom-lenses for hd video. Why I want to use zoomlenses is because filming out of hand or even with a rig, I really need IS to keep the shots steady. And I never heard of primes with IS function.

Now I have been looking for 2 lenses right now.

1st. Canon EF-S 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM Lens

I like this one because this focalrange is realy nice, the constant 2.8 and the IS function.

2th. 25-105mm f4.0 IS USM

I like this one because the focalrange is better for my personal taste but the f4.0 is a big con. I like the fact it has IS.

Wich one would be better quality and optical and wich alternatives are there. By the way... money is NO issue. I could spend up to 8000,- euros probably 10000 dollars on glass.

I want the best of the best zoom-lens for filming with my DSLR.
